Educator Evaluation System

Educator Evaluation System

In 2012, the State Legislature approved the TEACHNJ Act.  (Official citation for the statewide initiative is:  C.18A:6-117.  It is known as the "Teacher Effectiveness and Accountability for the Children of New Jersey Act.")

On March 6, 2013, NJDOE proposed regulations outlining educator evaluation policies for the 2013-14 school year.  This statewide evaluation system is called AchieveNJ.

Our district established a District Evaluation Advisory Committee (DEAC) during the 2011-12 school year.  The committee consisted of several stakeholders including parents, teachers, administrators, and board of education members.  They reviewed, evaluated, and selected the Danielson Framework for Teaching as the observation tool for teachers.  The Marshall Evaluation Rubric was selected for the administrators in the district.

The District then adopted the Marshall Evaluation System for staff members during the 2016-2017 school year.

The DEAC continues to meet multiple times a year to assess the evaluation process.
